In a condensed a day of qualifying Indycar set the field of 33 cars for next week’s 110th running of the Indianapolis 500. For the first time since 2010 that defending winner of the 500 returns to take pole Alex Palou retains pole at Indy. Kelvin Van Der Linde leads the way for BMW in a wet second qualifying session for the Nurburgring 24 Hours. Fabian Schiller tops qualifying at the Nurburgring aboard his number 80 WinWard Racing Mercedes AMG. Schiller reeled off a 8:14.957 lap time in the final 30 minutes of the two hour qualifying 1 session. Deletraz remains on top after FP2
WTR’s number 40 of Louis Deletraz stays top of the board at the conclusion of FP2. Deletraz reeled off a 1:14.183 to edge out ahead of the 24 BMW by 0.183 seconds. Jack Aitken was third aboard his Action Express Cadillac. The 90 minute session ran without any red flags but there two notable incidents involving the GTP cars.
