JDC Miller Motorsports takes it maiden GTP victory at Laguna Seca with an unbelievable final stint by factory Porsche ace Laurin Heinrich. Heinrich claimed a thrilling victory giving JDC the first win for a privately entered Porsche 963. Heinrich who made a late race charge against the number 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac of Earl Bamber and made the race winning move on the final lap with help of GT traffic. It marked the first overall victory for the John Church led squad since there overall victory in the 2021 12 Hours of Sebring. Heinrich now takes over the overall points lead as a solo driver after winning the Florida 36 he now shares top honors with Tijem Van Der Helm. Marco Wittman and Philip Eng complete the podium. Ford Racing takes victory in the GTD Pro class in a race that played fuel mileage for GT classes. Frederik Vervisch held off a hard charging Nicky Catsburg aboard the number 4 Corvette with Rexy coming home third who led much of the race. It marked Ford’s first victory since last year’s Battle on the Bricks. GTD honors went to the Wayne Taylor Racing Lamborghini of Danny Formal and Trent Himdman. This marked the WTR squad first win since CTMP last year. With the 27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin taking second place in class and the number 70 Inception Racing Ferrari rounding out the podium.
