Justin Adakonis holds on for maiden first win

A familiar theme coming out of round two of Mazda MX5 Cup at St Pete was first time winners in race one we saw Bobby Gossett race two we saw Justin Adakonis secure his long awaited first victory in the series. Adakonis started from pole in race two, the had a lengthy first yellow in the opening minutes with Jeremy Fletcher and Matt Novak having a heavy crash. Which set up a titanic battle between Adakonis and Jared Thomas. When the green flag waved after another full course yellow with around 4 minutes Adakonis made a highly defensive maneuver on Thomas. Ultimately Ethan Jacobs came to a stop on track due to damage which caused a final full course yellow and race did not resume leaving Adakonis victorious in the streets of St Pete.
