Round 3 Racing double up in race 1 at VIR

Championship points leader Cole Loftsgards extends his points advantage over Devin Anderson by claiming his seventh victory of the season in race 1 at VIR. Loftsgard had to hold off multiple defenses of championship rival Devin Anderson with the 42 of Loftsgard finishing ahead of Anderson under the full course yellow, the 34 of Will Lucas completed the podium. This came in a very incident filled race that was put under safety car conditions four different times and three of them being in turn 1. The first incident came on lap 3 when Dark Horse Legends championship contender Chris Clarke aboard his Paley Motorsport with AAG Racing had a brake lock up into the tire barriers. The race restarted with 30 minutes remaining in the race another incident occurred with the 63 WheelHouse entry of Joesph Dederichs and the 84 of Paulo Salvatore which sent both cars off at turn 1. Dederichs has handed with an incident responsibility. That incident resulted in a lengthy cleanup which set up a 15 minute shootout only for the full course yellow to come out for debris in turn 1. The race restarted with 9 minutes remaining. The race ending yellow came out with 4 minutes to go when Ryan Persing nosed his 29 Paley Motorsport with AAG Racing Mustang into the turn1 barriers. The Legends class podium went to Round 3 Racing’s Oleg Gorshkov for his third victory Tom Tait came home in second, with Nick Smither rounding out the podium.
