
Rafa Racing claims its first Pilot Challenge victory in Canada

Rafa Racing scores its first Pilot Challenge victory on strategy in a chaotic race at Mosport. Kiko Porto and Varun Choskey overcome a late splash and go to maintain lead to claim there first victory. Porto made his final stop with 15 minutes remaining after stretching his fuel to pit after a hour and nine minutes. Porto had a 41 second lead at the time of the stop and emerged with a 5 second lead and won by 9.8 seconds to the 27 AutoTechnic BMW of Stevan Macaleer. Nate Cicero completes the GS class podium aboard his Mcumbee Macaleer Racing Mustang. The race saw a lengthy safety car period following a violent 2 car crash at turn 4 involving the LAP Motorsports Mustang and the 21 VGR Cupra where both cars where airborne. Both drivers were able to climb from there cars under power. The majority of the runners in the GS class and TCR utilized the lengthy yellow to make there first stop at the 40 minute mark. Nate Cicero and Robert Noaker leave CTMP with a podium and now the lead of the championship after the 95 Turner Motorsports BMW was forced to the garage on the opening lap with suspension damage. In TCR the number 33 BHA Hyundai of Mason Filippi and Bryson Morris take victory which finished 7th overall by stretching fuel. MMG Honda comes home in second and making a pass on the last lap the 56 Baker Racing Audi comes home in third.
