Dillman, Clarke take a commanding victory in Canada

Inter Europol Competition claims overall victory for the second time in three years of LMP2 being the headline of the IMSA round at CTMP. Tom Dillman was able to drive the number 43 home to a 9.7 second lead over the 04 CrowdStrike Racing entry of Alex Quinn. Co-driver Jeremy Clarke was able to put the 43 on pole position for the 2 hour and 40 minute sprint race. An early pair of full course yellows saw the 04 of George Kurtz briefly take the lead staying out while the rest of the LMP2 field pitted. The 52 PR1 Mathiasen entry of Misha Goikberg tried an alternative strategy by putting at the halfway mark then putting Ricky Taylor in. The call unfortunately did not play in favor of the 52 as they had to pit with 42 minutes remaining put them around 50 seconds behind third place. Alex Quinn took over the lead when the 52 car hit the pits but then was passed by Dillman with a hour and four minutes left where the 43 stayed until the end of the race. Alex Quinn aboard his CrowdStrike Racing entry was second and rounding out the podium was the 99 AO Racing. In the GT classes Vasser Sullivan’s number 14 takes back to back victories with Ben Barnicoat and Jack Hawksworth returning to victory lane over the 77 AO Racing Porsche and the pole sitting BMW from Paul Miller Racing rounding out the podium. GTD honors went to the 57 WinWard Racing Mercedes of Russell Ward and Philip Ellis taking there first victory since the Rolex 24. The number 12 Vasser Sullivan Lexus comes home in second and rounding out the podium was the 96 Turner Motorsports BMW.
