Paul Miller BMW is victorious in Daytona

Paul Miller Racing wins a tense and strategic battle over the 75 Sun Energy Racing Mercedes. Heading into the final 90 minutes of the race Maro Engel appeared to be in position to capture the victory after passing several cars on track. During the final round of pit stops the Paul Miller team turned a 13 second faster stop on Dan Harper giving him the cushion to pass the 75 and give him that gap to secure the GTD Pro Class victory. The podium consisted of the number 1 claiming class victory the 75 Sun Energy team claimed second and in there first race as a two car team the 48 WinWard Racing secures the final spot on the podium while the sister car claimed the GTD clas victory. The number 4 corvette brings it home in fourth and the 911 Grell Manthey Porsche rounds out the top five. Tow cars in the Pro class did not see the checkered flag the 62 Risi a Competizione Ferrari which was involved in a collision with the 033 Ferrari and the 64 Ford had a mechanical failure take them out of the race in the closing stages.
