Honda in talks to confirming an entry in FIA WEC

Honda is looking likely to join the FIA WEC as early as 2027 if the current advanced talks reach a positive conclusion. If the effort comes to fruition it would be a rebadged Acura ARX-06. There have been several talks about privateer teams for the Asia Le Mans Series but these talks are for a full fledged factory effort. If the program is confirmed this would be the third new manufacturer to join the WEC in 2027 joining Ford and McLaren. Right now the leading candidate to head this operation would be the Polish team Inter Europol Competition an established team in both IMSA and WEC with wins in multiple categories across the globe. If the WEC program does happen it does not appear to any effect on the current IMSA GTP program.
