Callum Hedge grabs his first career Porsche Carrera Cup victory in race 2 at Road America. The pole sitter Hedge aboard his number 9 JDX Racing Porsche crossed the line 2.479 seconds ahead of second place Cole Kleck. The majority of the race was ran behind the safety car due to repeated multi-car accidents. A crash between John Goetz and Josh Conley in the opening lap became a domino effect of what was to come. Three consecutive safety car periods disrupted the action with drivers unable to complete a full lap under green until 10 minutes of the race was left. Race winner Hedge snatched the lead from Kleck on the final safety car restart and managed to extend a gap to second place. ACI Motorsports Janne Stiak came home in third place. Title contender Aaron Jeansonne benefited from the flurry of title contenders not finishing the race including championship leader Tyler Maxson who did not finish due to damage to the front wheel. Tomorrow the teams that did not get to take part in Miami race 2 will have there makeup race which goes off at 8:50am central time.
