Foley and Turner Motorsports claim Indy 8 Hour Pole

Turner Motorsports Robby Foley beats Turkish superstar Ayhacan Guven by 0.002 seconds to secure pole for the Indy 8 Hours during the Superpole session. The BMW factory driver alongside Justin Rothberg are looking to claim there third consecutive GTWC America championship. Foley laid down the benchmark time of a 1:22.805 in the 15 minute session. With Guven’s best time of a 1:22.807 lining him up in second overall and claiming the Pro-Am class honors in his Buc-ee’s themed Porsche from GMG Racing. Foley and Rothberg will share driving duties tomorrow with newly crowned IMSA GTD Pro champion Connor De Phillippi. Ford Racing factory driver Christopher Mies put his no.6 Dollahite Racing Ford Mustang in third place after encountering brake issues during the last qualifying session. Alessio Picariello was fourth quick and rounding out the top five was Aaron Telitz. Frederik Schandorff was sixth quickest and fastest of the Mercedes entered cars is reigning Indycar champion Alex Palou. JMF Racing takes the eighth and nineth place spots with there two Mercedes and rounding out the ten was the RS1 entered Porsche of Jan Heylen. Tomorrow marks the seventh and final scheduled running of the Indianapolis 8 Hours.
