Ferrari AF Corse paces the Prologue claiming the top three positions in both the morning and afternoon sessions of running at the Imola circuit. The day was plagued by off and on rain showers. BMW had a productive day of running with the 20 car taking the fourth fastest time. However for the sister 15 car an engine was needed during the morning session but had a productive afternoon of running. The only other major problem in the Hypercar class was the 009 Aston Martin Valkyrie driven by Marco Sorensen having a sizable impact of the barriers at Tamburello which caused a lengthy red flag. This incident did require a chassis change but they will be ready for FP1 on Friday. It was a solid debut for the Genesis the racked up 356 laps with no major issues. While in LMGT3 Aston Martin was able to set the fastest time of the single day test session. While Ferrari and Corvette did keep the times close over the two sessions. With the Prologue now over attention turns to Friday for the start of the 2026 season begins with FP1 and FP2.
