DragonSpeed set to leave IMSA at conclusion of the season

DragonSpeed Racing will be departing the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship at seasons end confirmed by team principal Elton Julian. The multi time Rolex 24 winning team this season has been in a tough season with the Corvette C8R has been marred by multiple accidents not of its own doing including a heavy crash the Sebring 12 Hours which left its bronze rated driver Henrik Hedman with an undisclosed injury. Hedman who owns the Corvette chassis bowed out of driving duties following the Watkins Glenn 6 hours when he was collected in a multi car incident under a full course yellow. The team is coming off its best result of the season a fourth place in the GTD class at Road America. Team principal Elton Julian stated they do not have a program planned in 2027 for IMSA. It sounds likely that the team will race next season in the SRO GT America with Hedman’s son William who will be making his Pro debut later this season at Indianapolis.
