Daytona set to open 2027 Mustang Challenge season

IMSA’s single male championship Mustang Challenge has just announced there schedule for the 2027 season multiple changes ahead. The series will once again feature 12 races held over 6 weekends with the season now kicking off in January at Daytona International Speedway during the Roar before the 24 weekend. That is followed by traditional rounds at Sebring and Laguna Seca supporting the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship. The series will be taking an early summer break and Watkins Glenn and Mid Ohio will be losing there rounds this is due to the series heading to the Mustang Challenge Invitational at the Circuit De Spa Franchorchamps in support to the 24 Hours of Spa. The series heads back to the states in August at Virginia International Raceway as well as supporting the FIA WEC at COTA in September. The series finale will be held at Road Atlanta supporting the Motul Petit Le Mans. The 2027 season will mark the fourth season of the single make championship in what is believed to be the best schedule yet.
