Acura set for departure in GTP at end of season

Acura to end there GTP program at the end of the 2026 season with the possibility of customer teams available in 2027. Multiple paddocks have confirmed that the Japanese automaker is set to axe its factory involvement at the conclusion of the season. It’s GTP drivers are understood to have been informed of this decision which was made several weeks ago. Right now it’s understood that we could see an official announcement as early as next week on the fate of the Acura team. It was known that current WeatherTech competitor Inter Europol had been exploring the possibility of bringing the Acura ARX-06 to WEC next year but a deal failed to materialize. The team however is known to be pursuing a effort in either IMsA or WEC for a top class prototype entry.
