Fletcher takes race 1 victory at Mid Ohio

Jeremy Fletcher becomes the first repeat winner of the 2026 Mazda MX5 Cup series with taking victory at Mid Ohio. Fletcher started second today alongside teammate Justin Adakonis who earned pole on a wet track. Once the green flag dropped the entire field was nose to tail in the opening laps. Then Ethan Jacobs starting breaking up the drafts up front. Fletcher was able to work his way back to the front while teammate Adakonis dropped back. Fletcher worked his way back as the races only full course yellow came out for a car stuck in the turn 2 gravel trap. On the restart JTR teammates and MMR teammates were locked in battle, just like the start Jacobs was there to break them up. Fletcher took the lead with 6 laps to go and never looked back. Fletcher took a 0.119 second victory over Jared Thomas and Gresham Wagner.
