Estep, Baltes score race 2 victory at Barber
Trenton Estep and Yves Baltas score the overall victory at Barber Motorsports Park after contact between the leading two cars in the Pro-Am class. Estep aboard the ACI Motorsports no.7 Porsche Cayman GT4 finish two seconds clear of the Advanced Motorsports McLaren of Austin Jurs after contact between Allen Patten and Tony Gaples. Gaples was given incident responsibility for the contact. This handed the Pro-Am victory to the Random Vandals BMW of Sam Craven and Kenton Koch. This victory marked both Estep’s and Baltas first GT4 victory. The Silver class championship still remains up for grabs despite Luca Mars and Spencer Pumpelly looking to clinch this weekend. A drive through penalty for the no.68 Rafa Racing Toyota Supra of Westin Workman for a pit speed violation by co-driver Tyler Gonzalez initially dropped Workman to fifth, when Pumpelly was second at the time. However with 20 minutes remaining a multi car pileup set up a 15 minute shootout that saw championship leader Pumpelly briefly stop on track. Pumpelly came home 20th overall and 7th in class while Workman came home third in class.
