Weekend sweep across the board in both classes LMP3 and GSX see both Oscar Tunjo and Westin Workman take both race 1 and 2 victory at Mid Ohio. Due to wet conditions in Saturday’s race qualifying for the LMP3 class was set by fastest lap during race 1 seeing debutant Gian Buffomante claim his first pole in IMSA competition. Race 1 winner Tunjo rolled off in fifth place and once he took the start he started picking off the field one by one. Buffomante led the opening 10 laps of the race before Tunjo took advantage of a mistake made by Buffomante on the exit of the keyhole. Tunjo made quick work establishing a major gap to second until a full course yellow flew. Even with the yellow Tunjo won by 11.337 seconds over teammate Danny Soufi. Lincoln Day rounded out the podium with a third place finish. In GSX Westin Workman makes it a perfect 6 for 6 to start the season aboard his Rafa Racing Toyota Supra. Workman had a winning margin of a lap over the GSX field. Bronze cup winner Rob Walker started in second and finished second with Justin Di Benedetto rounding out the podium.
