Project 91 returns in San Diego with former F1 driver Kevin Magnussen

There had been a lot of speculation about the return this year of TrackHouse’s Project 91, well with NASCAR making its debut on the street circuit on Naval Base Coranado it appeared there was no better time to bring back that project. Former F1 driver and current BMW factory driver Kevin Magnussen will be making his NASCAR Cup Series debut aboard the number 91 Chevy for TrackHouse Racing. Kevin joins his father who also made a Cup Series appearance in 2010 at Sonoma finishing in a respectable 12th place. Magnussen becomes the fourth driver to pilot the number 91 entry which included Kimi Raikkonen, Shane Van Gisbergen who won on debut with TrackHouse, and Helio Castroneves. The whole point behind Project 91 was to bring successful drivers from other disciplines of racing to NASCAR and its safe to say that Project 91 lives up to the hype each race it is entered.
