Loftsgard capitalizes while Allaer falters

Race 1 for the Mustang Challenge comes to a wrap with that familiar number 42 ending up in victory lane. Cole Loftsgard returns to victory lane in race 1 of the weekend after starting on pole position. The race was not an easy for one for Loftsgard as former Indy NXT Nolan Allaer led the early portion of the race. Allaer dropped down to fourth on lap after a rough off road excursion in turn 1 that tore the under floor off of the Spark Performance Mustang. It gave Loftsgard clear air and led him to victory. Devin Anderson took second after a valiant effort trying to pass Loftsgard. Sandy Satullo took third ahead of Will Lucas who passed Allaer for fourth around halfway. Paolo Salvatore claimed his first Legends class victory after issues struck pole sitter David Luaces right before the green flag. Joe Dederichs took second with Joe Koening coming home in third.
