Earl Bamber leads a Cadillac front row lockout in Detroit

Earl Bamber and his number 31 Action Express Cadillac set a new track record for the Detroit Street Circuit during the 15 minute GTP qualifying session. Bamber laid down a flying 1:05.313 ahead of the number 40 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac. Soon after Bamber laid down his pole sitting lap the session came to hault 3 minutes early due to both factory Porsche 963’s having a coming together in turn 1. Nick Yelloly was the fastest of the Acura entered cars in third. With the pair of WRT BMW’s rounding out the top five. So far the 31 Cadillac has swept every session of running on Friday and they will be looking to continue this form into the race.
